## Printing with the Ultimaker 2+
### Preparing a file
1. Save your model as a .stl file.
2. Download and install [Cura](https://ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura).
3. Inside Cura, load your file by clicking `File > Open` in the menu bar or clicking the folder icon in the top left. Select your .stl file.
4. Make sure the selected printer is the Ultimaker 2+ and the material is set correctly.
5. For the easiest setup, select a profile in the Print Settings menu. For more advanced settings, click the hamburger button and select Basic, Advanced, or Expert. This will show or hide certain options in the Print Settings menu.
6. Click the Slice button in the bottom right of the screen.
7. Click Preview. Any overhangs will be displayed in red on the model. Switch back to the Prepare view at the top of the screen and adjust the print settings before re-slicing until the red parts are gone or acceptable.
8. Click Save to File and store the file on an SD card.
9. Insert the SD card into the printer.
### Starting a print
1. Turn on the Ultimaker 2+.
2. Make sure the print bed is clean and level. If not, see [Leveling the print bed](#Leveling-the-print-bed).
3. Using the wheel, select Print.
4. Select your prepared file from the list.
5. The printer will start heating the nozzle and print bed. When it is done, the print will start.
6. Once the print starts, stay with the printer for the first layer. Check for proper extrusion and bed adhesion.
### Removing a print from the print bed
1. Make sure the print bed has cooled down to room temperature.
2. Depending on the size and adhesion method of your print, removing it from the bed can be easy or difficult. Small/medium prints can be popped of the bed by sliding a scraper against the base or even by pulling it off by hand. Try this first.
3. If your print can't be taken off the bed with a scraper or by hand, more drastic methods can be used. Take the print bed out of the printer by pulling the two clamps in the front towards you and taking the glass plate with your print out.
4. Cool the glass plate with cold air or by putting it in a normal refrigerator. Slight shrinkage will cause the print to pop off the bed by itself in most cases. Try repeatedly cooling and reheating the plate to room temperature if this method doesn't work first try. Know when to stop trying! Your print may suffer from frequent temperature changes.
