Particle distribution in micrographs
In plotting the distribution of particles in the micrograph along the x- y- and z-directions it is notable that there are significantly more particles than expected in a single bin near the edges. After looking at the parakeet source code, specifically the algorithm used to distribute the particles across the box see here I think it is simply due to the algorithm pushing some particles that slightly lie outside the simulation box back inside. This is also evidenced by the fact that very close to the edge there are no particles found and the very outer bins of the distribution plots are empty
